At the Ferndale sign board (1st stop street / First National Bank), turn left. Travel 2km out of town. Turn right at the Henderson/Bacela sign. Travel for 23km down into Henderson valley. Turn right at the Ferndale Campsite and 4x4 sign (at the hangar & windsock) and follow the road for 1km to the campsite on Thomas River at the base of the krans (cliff). The nearest major airport is in East London (120km from Ferndale) with daily flights arriving from Johannesburg and Cape Town. Car-hire is available at the East London Airport or visitors can be collected from East London airport and shuttled to Ferndale.
